The 3 Apps I Couldn’t Survive Without as a Busy Mom (and Why)

There are a lot of apps on my phone.

But if I had to choose 3 I absolutely rely on as a busy mom…these are them.

1. Google Calendar - My Brain Outside My Body

If it’s not in my calendar, it doesn’t exist.

Google Calendar is where my entire life lives.

Work. Workouts. Tasks. Appointments. Personal commitments. Everything.

What makes it work for me:

  • My days are planned out by the hour

  • Work, workouts, personal time, and tasks all have their own colors

  • I schedule workouts like meetings because they are non-negotiables

  • I don’t rely on memory or willpower - I rely on what’s already been decided by me, which means I control my day

This is how I remove overthinking and decision fatigue.

I decide once, put it on the calendar, and then I just follow the plan.

When people tell me they “don’t have time,” 9 times out of 10, they don’t have a time problem. They have a clarity problem.

Google Calendar gives me clarity.

2. Peloton - Non-Negotiable Movement

I use Peloton daily. I have for years.

Why Peloton works for me:

  • No commute, no wasted time

  • I can choose exactly how long I want to work out

  • Strength, cardio, mobility, walking, stretching - it’s all there

  • I don’t have to think about what to do

As a mom, I need workouts that fit into my life, not workouts that require my life to revolve around them.

Peloton removes friction. I press play and move my body. That’s it.

3. Podcasts - Filling My Mind While My Hands Are Busy

Podcasts are how I learn, grow, and stay grounded while doing everyday life.

I listen while:

  • Driving

  • Walking

  • Cleaning

  • Folding laundry

  • Prepping food

Instead of scrolling, I’m feeding my mind.

These are on repeat for me:

  • Grace to You Pulpit

  • The GaryVee Audio Experience

  • Relatable

  • Focus on the Family

  • The Dr. Gabrielle Lyon Show

I’m intentional about what I let influence me. These keep me anchored in faith, family, health, and long-term thinking.

The Common Thread

These apps:

  • Remove decision fatigue

  • Create structure

  • Support consistency

  • Make the healthy choice the easy choice

None of them require motivation in the moment.

This is what I mean when I talk about systems over motivation.

If you’re a busy mom trying to hold a lot together, start here. Decide once. Build the system. Let it support you.
