Things That I Did in 2025 for Health, That I’ll Continue in 2026
2025 wasn’t a dramatic reset for me. It was about building habits that fit real life as a widowed, full-time working mom and learning how to lower my stress instead of living in survival mode, while supporting my body in a way I could actually sustain.
These are the habits I’m intentionally carrying into 2026.
Not as a checklist for you to copy, but as proof that lasting health comes from systems, not willpower.
The habits I’m keeping
Rebounding as a pre-workout to gently wake up my body and lymphatic system
Continuing to prioritize protein and strength training to maintain and build muscle
Eating fewer ultra-processed foods
Supporting gut and hormone health intentionally
Going to bed earlier
Giving my nervous system more downtime
Actively working on stress reduction instead of living in survival mode
Prioritizing connection and closeness with my daughter
Praying without ceasing throughout the day
Focusing on gratitude through our word of the year, gifts, and our verse of the year, James 1:17
Scripture memorization
Consistent Bible studying and reading
What I learned
None of these habits worked because I was perfectly disciplined.
They worked because I stopped relying on motivation and started building structure.
Structure that made the right choice easier.
Structure that removed decision fatigue.
Structure that supported me on the days I was tired, stressed, or overwhelmed.
Most people don’t need more information. They already know what to do.
What they’re missing is consistency, accountability, and someone paying attention when life gets busy.
That’s where real change happens.
Heading into 2026
I’m refining what already works.
This season feels less about adding more and more about paying attention - to what supports my body, my faith, my peace, and my family.
If you’re heading into 2026 feeling a quiet nudge to do things differently - not louder, not harder, just more intentionally - you’re not behind.
You’re right on time.
What are you taking into 2026 or adding to 2026? I’d love to hear!
